Reduce Wrinkles
By Ms. Admin | March 25, 2008
Wrinkles are a fact of aging. Dermatologist prescribed options such as face-lifts, face-peels, micro-derm abrasions and Botox® are not the only options to reduce wrinkles. Both men and women are achieving remarkable results in wrinkle reduction through combined use of natural skin treatments and good old common sense.
First, the common sense wrinkle reducing recommendations. A good sunscreen is key to keeping your skin full and youthful. The sun is the most prevalent wrinkle producing factor. While a dose of vitamin D is good for the body and mind, too much exposure can cause irreparable wrinkle damage, such as sun spots, deep crease wrinkles, dry skin, collagen reduction, and worst of all Melanoma. While he level of sun exposure depends on one’s skin type, it is best to always consider the sun as a hostile environmental hazard and protect against it.
The most obvious protection is using a good sun-screen. Find a sun-screen that has a high SPF and apply it directly to the area’s of the skin that will in direct contact with the sun. Additionally women should apply sunscreen under their make-up. Don’t forget to apply it to the ears, nose and hands, because they get the most exposure from harmful UV rays.
Smoking is such an obvious health hazard for too many reasons to list here. Suffice it to say, don’t smoke. Smokers ruin their skin from the poison that cigarettes produce.
Eat a healthy diet. A diet high in the fruits and vegetables feeds the skin the necessary nutrients to protect it while enabling the body to efficiently produce new skin that aids in reducing wrinkles. There are easy additions to a healthy diet that can dramatically improve aging skin and actually appear to turn back the aging clock.
These “Superfoods” as defined by the renowned Dr. Perricone include, buckwheat, wheat, barley grass, chlorella and spirulina. These food are packed with nutrients that have a direct effect on the skin. They possess enzymes that interact with the body to rid the system of harmful toxins. The simple rule is to eat fresh and natural to keep wrinkles away from your face.
Exercise is key to flushing toxins from the body and enabling oxygen to get into the bloodstream to assist skin cells in their ability to repair damage and produce new, youthful looking skin.
Getting on a good skin care product regimen is imperative to reduce wrinkles and maintain healthy, youthful skin. There are many skin care products on the market, but few actually have the correct blending of the ingredients to maximize the positive effect on the skin.
Low level department store/drug store brands normally offer acceptable ingredients, but more often than not, they are missing the ideal amounts of active ingredients required for proper wrinkle reduction. Additionally they are packed with fillers and preservatives that can actually have a negative impact on the skin. While the high-end brands such as Kinerase, Perricone, and Murad are preferred by dermatologists and knowledgeable consumers, there are less expensive products available that offer the same level of ingredients and focus on particular areas of the skin.
When choosing the best skin care creams to reduce wrinkles, it’s best to look for all-natural products that don’t use fillers or preservatives. A hypo-allergenic formulation is best as it will work with the widest spectrum of skin types.
The hottest ingredients for wrinkle reduction are Hyaluronic Acid, which helps build collagen support, Argireline (ACETYL HEXAPEPTIDE-3) a French produced wrinkle relaxer. CoQ10 and Squaline are very good ingredients as well. One of the most overlooked features of quality skin creams is water. Make sure that any products under consideration are made with pure, distilled water.
Men and women seek out wrinkle reducing products as an anti-aging skin care treatment. While a good quality skin care product regimen is essential, diet, exercise and lifestyle can have a dramatic impact on reducing wrinkles and keeping the skin youthful and radiant.

I’ve tried Argireline and found it to be quite effective. I’m trying some products with DMAE, but not long enough to know if they work well. If anyone can offer suggestions I would appreciate it.

I’ve tried Argireline and it seemed to work for me. I was considering Botox, but did like the idea of needles getting near my face. I found Argireline to work well, but it’s not as strong as some claim. My fine lines seemed to smooth out, but deep wrinkles were still there, much to my dismay.
